Dalaman, which is a district of Muğla Province in the Mediterranean Region, is located between Köyceğiz, Ortaca and Fethiye districts of the same province and Çameli district of Denizli province. The eastern, northern and western parts are mountainous and the south is plain. The lands of the district are roughened by the Shadow Mountains (2,295 m.), and the Boncuk Mountain (2.265 m.). The skirts of these mountains, which run parallel to Fethiye Bay, are covered with leafy forests and the higher parts are covered with coniferous forests. The tea, which grows with the merging of the branches descending from the Göktepe and Yaylacık Mountains of the Western Taurus Mountains, flows in a narrow and deep valley, 8 km from Ortaca. It pours into the sea from the south. Its height above sea level is 15 m. Its area is 61,694 hectares. Dalaman population is 42,024 according to 2019. There is no information about the history of the district due to the lack of adequate archaeological excavations and surveys. However, since it is in the Ancient Caria region, it is thought that the history of the district dates back to very old times.

Dalaman, which was a single municipality with the merger of the towns of Atakent and Dalaman, which were previously affiliated to the Köyceğiz District, was made a district in 1983.

It is thought that the ancient city of Euhippe was located in the north of the Caria region, next to Dalaman, where the Alaçatlı Village (Alaca-atlı) is located.

Dalaman Train Station is also located in Dalaman district.
